Message from the President and CEO, Cass Isidro: A New Year of Embracing Change to Meet Opportunity
Hello, friends of the Amputee Coalition! Advocating for the limb loss and limb difference community is critical at any time for our nation, and 2025 is no different. We want to express and ensure our community members that your voice matters and our focus on your well-being and serving as a premier resource for programs and services will not waiver. I hope the start to 2025 has been met with positivity and hope and for the spaces of struggle or stagnation please know you are not alone. We are here for you and will continue to support the limb loss and limb difference community. We envision a world where our community thrives and we work daily to foster a culture of community and center our mission to support, educate, and advocate for people impacted by limb loss and limb difference, in all aspects of our work. Like many of my sentiments you may have previously read or heard me speak, partnership is central to how we serve the more than 5.6 million Americans living with limb loss and limb difference. Our community partnership includes longtime industry partners, volunteers, donors, and supporters, and the central focus is you – the Amputee Coalition community that represents those we serve who need us most.
We hope you continue to find the Amputee Coalition as a place of connectivity for community, point of entry, and resource hub but most importantly that you find specific resources, programs, and support that meet you in your journey to improve your quality of life. The Amputee Coalition board of directors and staff are utilizing 2025 as an opportunity to continue building on the 2024 successes as a community, learning curves, and challenges we face in advocating and using each lesson as an opportunity for growth as a movement and continued mission-driven focus. Community members are making peer visits, joining in-person and virtual support groups, attending community days, reading our publications and so much more through the National Limb Loss Resource Center, the only national, comprehensive, evidence-based, and unbiased source of educational information and peer support services to promote prevention, recovery, reintegration, and the health of individuals who have limb loss or limb difference.
2025 is already off to a successful start, and we want to invite you to continue utilizing the available resources and happenings offered daily and throughout the year.
