Amputee Coalition, A Message from our President & CEO Cass Isidro

February AC News Flash: Updates, Gratitude, and Exciting Announcements

As we move through February, we want to take a moment to acknowledge and thank each and every one of you who continue to stand with us. In our last update, we shared news about staff reductions, our renewed focus on core services, and the launch of our fundraising campaign. These efforts are ongoing, and we’re incredibly grateful for the volunteers who have stepped up, the donors who have already given, and our amazing AC staff who keep our vital programs running—ensuring that information and referral services, peer visits, training, education, and outreach continue without interruption.

Understandably, some of you have asked, “What’s on hold for now?” A few educational projects that were set to launch in the first half of this year—such as our new webinar series and the new peer visitor program for professionals—are currently paused. The good news? These initiatives are already well-developed, and we’re eager to roll them out once we’re able.

We’ve also been reviewing our print resources, including inMotion magazine, to find ways to be more efficient. While we’re committed to bringing back the printed version when possible, for now, inMotion will be available only in a digital format. We’ll keep you posted in our weekly newsletter and on our website about how you can access it.

Despite these temporary pauses, we’re still looking ahead with optimism. Our commitment to community engagement and enhancing programs remains strong, and we’re confident that as we stabilize, we’ll be able to move forward with new projects that will benefit you, our community.

Now, onto some exciting news! 🌟

We’re thrilled to share that the Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month Toolkit is now available! Now is the perfect time to submit proclamation requests, update your LinkedIn profile, and change your Zoom background to proudly show your AC colors. Let’s make some noise and shine a light on our community this April!

Though today’s message is brief, we hope you feel our deep gratitude for your support, our shared commitment to this community, and the exciting road ahead. Thank you for being a part of the Amputee Coalition family—together, we’re making an impact every single day.

Stay connected, stay inspired, and we’ll be back with more updates soon!
