Study Title:
Employment Status, Return to Work, and Job Retention Following Lower-Limb Amputation.
Study Location:
Essential Orthotics & Prosthetics, Prosthetics and Orthotics Group Signal Hill, & California State Dominguez Hills
Research Objectives:
The purpose of this study is to understand the employment status, workplace experiences, challenges, and factors affecting return to work and job retention among individuals living with lower-limb amputation. The findings may help improve rehabilitation services, vocational support programs, and workplace accommodations. Allowing for financial, emotional and mental stability in the adult lives of lower limb amputees.
Eligibility Criteria:
Partcipants must be 18 years or older have a unilateral or bilateral lower limb amputation, have experience using a lower limb prosthesis and be able to provide informed consent and complete the survey. Partcipants should at least 12 months post amputation at the time of the participation. Be currently employed full time, part time, or self-employed and must have worked after their amputation regardless of if they returned to their previous job or not.

No compensation is available.

Time Commitment:
Survey duration is 10 to 15 minutes, and each participant will complete the survey once.
