Study Title:
Analysis Of Access and Barriers to Care in Families with Child Amputees
Study Location:
Nationwide (remote participation through an online Qualtrics survey administered by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill)
Research Objectives:
Objective 1: To identify barriers to accessing healthcare services and specialty providers among individuals with limb differences and amputations and their families.
Objective 2: To assess experiences obtaining prosthetic devices, prosthetic information, and financial resources for prosthetic care.
Objective 3: To evaluate the utilization of support resources, including healthcare professionals, peer networks, support organizations, camps, and community programs.
Objective 4: To examine social experiences associated with limb differences and amputations, including peer support, community engagement, and experiences with bullying.
Objective 5: To evaluate participation in recreational and physical activities among individuals with limb differences and amputations.
Eligibility Criteria:
Adults (18 years or older) with a limb difference or amputation and parents or legal guardians of children with a limb difference or amputation. Participants must be able to complete an anonymous online survey in English.
Compensation Details:
Participants will not receive compensation for completing the survey.

Time Commitment:
Participants will complete a one-time anonymous online survey requiring approximately 10–15 minutes. No follow-up visits or additional study activities are required.

How to Participate:
