Study Location
The Center for Bionic Medicine (CBM) at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, Illinois
Research Objectives
The objective of this research is to evaluate mobility, non-weight-bearing control, and satisfaction in ambulating with a fully powered prosthesis for individuals with unilateral transfemoral amputation who will receive and have received osseointegration (OI) and targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR).
Eligibility Criteria
Participants must:
- Be age 18-70
- Have an amputation or limb loss/difference of one leg above the knee
- Currently use a prosthesis for ambulation and be able to go up and down stairs
- Be a candidate for OI and TMR surgery
- Not be visually impaired or have active implants
Compensation Details
Participants will be compensated $40 per hour for study visits at CBM, plus the cost of parking and transportation to the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
Enrollment Closes
