The Amputee Coalition of America is proud to recognize the longstanding commitment and support of Ohio Willow Wood (OWW) as a Lodestone Sponsor of the Amputee Coalition of America’s Paddy Rossbach Youth Camp for 2010. The Lodestone sponsorship represents a financial commitment of $13,500 to the camp for its programs and activities. The youth camp is a 5-day traditional summer camp experience for children ages 10-17 who have lost an arm or leg or were born with limb differences. “Once again, we thank Ohio Willow Wood for their loyal sponsorship of our youth camp. This generous contribution enables us to provide an exciting camp experience for children with limb loss,” said Kendra Calhoun, Amputee Coalition president and CEO. “Every dollar helps our camp operation thrive and grow, and we value Ohio Willow Wood’s continuing commitment toward our growing camp program.” Founded in 1907, Ohio Willow Wood is an innovative industry leader in the development, manufacture and distribution of prosthetic products. In its continuing commitment to children with limb loss, this year OWW will be one of the leading Amputee Coalition of America’s Paddy Rossbach Youth Camp donors. “The youth camp is such an outstanding event, and one that really can change the lives of its campers,” shared Lisa Watkins, communications coordinator at Ohio Willow Wood. “Ohio Willow Wood is excited to support the 2010 camp, its staff, and its campers in having one of the most fun and rewarding weeks of the entire summer. Plus, the Ohio Willow Wood employees who volunteer at the camp are eagerly anticipating the ‘ACA’s Got Talent’ event almost as much as the campers themselves!” Ohio Willow Wood has supported the Amputee Coalition’s programs since 1997. They have supported the Amputee Coalition’s youth programs and initiatives for the past 7 years. With recent exciting growth surrounding the Amputee Coalition of America’s Paddy Rossbach Youth Camp, OWW felt that it was an obvious choice for the company to support the camp as well. In 2008, the company sponsored the counselor training and a few camp sessions, as well as a camper Carnival Night. Last year, OWW sponsored “Camp Idol,” a talent show for the campers, as well as the counselor training. This year OWW will be sponsoring counselor training and “ACA’s Got Talent,” a fun and exciting talent show for campers, and will also help support more campers to attend camp July 24-28, 2010. In addition to OWW’s financial support of the youth camp, many OWW employees also volunteer their time to help run the camp events that they have sponsored.
