Mending Limbs Organization to Hold Second Annual Benefit Concert Event to raise awareness of need for adequate prosthetic insurance coverage for amputees	Bills to mandate insurance coverage for prostheses have been introduced in the NY Senate, #S599 sponsored by Senator Bonacic, and the Assembly # A450 sponsored by Assemblywoman Gunther. The title of the bills is “An act to amend the insurance law, in relation to mandatory health insurance coverage for providing prosthetic devices.” Both bills have been passed to the Insurance Committees (this is where they were previously stuck and dropped). Below is a list of Assembly and Senate Insurance Committee members. If you are an amputee and your legislator is on this list it is IMPERATIVE that you call them and tell them your story. We need the support of the insurance committee. Give them the number and name of the bills and tell them you want/need them to support the bills.
