Dear Senator Dole,

I know you are working with the Amputee Coalition of American and Foley & Lardner on the possibility of acting as a lead sponsor of the Senate version of the Prosthetic Parity Act.  As your constituent, I am asking that you agree to be a lead sponsor so we can keep this important bill moving.

The House version of this bill has a strong set of bipartisan co-sponsors (HR 5615).  It is important legislation.  This legislation will ensure that prostheses are treated the same as other basic, essential care.

Numerous studies have been done that demonstrate that prosthetic parity is not only low cost to individuals under private and group insurance plans, but it also results in a savings to the private and public sector.

Prosthetic coverage bills have been launched all over the country.  Currently, eleven states have passed prosthetic parity laws.  Another twenty-nine states, including North Carolina are working to advance bills.  It is time for Congress to take a stand on this important issue.

This is an opportunity to ensure that people with limb loss are given the care they need to fully participate in society!  I hope that you will help lead the efforts to advance the federal parity bill.

Sincerely,

 NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE
