Each year, the Amputee Coalition of America recognizes members who have worked throughout the previous year to improve the lives of people living with limb loss or limb difference. Winners for each category will receive a plaque and will be featured in an upcoming issue of inMotion magazine! The categories are as follows:

Volunteer of the Year Award will be given to an individual in recognition of dedication to the amputee community and commitment of personal time, resources or skills that reach out to ACA members or other people served by the ACA.

Role Model of the Year Award recognizes the power that one person’s positive influence can have over another or many other individuals, which in turn benefits a whole community. It will be given to an amputee who has inspired, mentored or otherwise helped individuals within the amputee community or members of the ACA.

Advocate of the Year Award will be given to an individual who has made significant contributions to ACA’s Action Plan for People with Limb Loss (APPLL), our national campaign for prosthetic coverage, through his or her involvement in our state-by-state effort to raise awareness, build support and advance legislation.

Professional of the Year Award will be given to an individual in the medical or O&P community whose professional expertise has benefited the ACA by helping the organization fulfill its mission of empowerment through education.
